The Wallace Collection: Catalogue of Sèvres Porcelain, 3 vols. London: Trustees of the Wallace Collection, 1988. See vol II, pp. 674-687 for a discussion of milk cups with socketed saucers, including six examples in the Wallace Collection. 313&A-1902 is discussed p.674-5 and note 10. The gobelet et soucoupe enfoncé is only rarely referred to as gobelet trembleuse at Sèvres in the eighteenth century (the cost was the same: 24 livres). Savill suggests the gobelet trembleuse listed in the records in 1773 with a cover decorated with gilded friezes is probably 313&A-1902 as it is distinguished by its reed handle: gobelet 'à la reine à roseaux'.
