This poster is the so-called 'circuit poster', used across the network to advertise site-specific projects. In this case a series of billboards reproducing works by the British artist David Shrigley was installed on the unused District line platform at Gloucester Road station. Shrigley's photographs are records of his interventions, staged mostly in public spaces such as parks, woods, beaches and so on. They deploy incongruous juxtapositions, enigmatic statements, and elements of the absurd and irrational, with a characterisitic cartoon-like humour. As in the example illustrated on this circuit poster, they often incorporate text, saturated colour contrasts and a direct address to the viewer.
