He provided a link between the exhibition in Paris in 1925 that launched the Art Deco style and the machine-age future envisioned by the New York designers of the 1930s. \r\n\r\nBrandt produced exquisite wrought ironwork using an assembly production line. Many of the forms were the result of the mechanical stamping processes he used in his Paris workshops. Employing a large workforce, Brandt relied on oxyacetylene-torch welding and on the newer electric-shot welding process to join the complex pieces without heating them at the forge. He created various colour effects by using the electroplating process to coat iron with other metals.","physicalDescription":"Wrought iron painted a dull silver finish.
