He holds a cross in his left hand, and an open book rests on the tree trunk. A skull is seen at his side, and a lion crouches nearby. In the heavens above two cherubim look down; St Jermoe gazes up at them. The wax resembles contempotary ivory carvings, and may have been related to an ivory, now lost.
