He raises his left hand in benediction as he addresses the Samarian woman. \r\n\r\nThe Samarian woman stands on the left of the panel. She wears a long dress with a tight revealing over-bodice. She wears a jewelled headdress with a long scarf attached which flows out behind her. Her left hand rests on the well which is in the centre of the panel.\r\n\r\nWater can be drawn from the well by means of an elaborate pulley system.
