As their name suggests, these were primarily decorated with figures representing particular trades, but also sometimes with saints, mythological figures, animals and other figures and emblems. This example shows two men working at a bench. Typically featuring polychrome decoration with a distinctive yellow band around the edge, such tiles were enormously popular throughout the 18th and into the 19th century.","physicalDescription":"","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Unknown","id":"A1848"},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"earthenware","id":"x29356"},{"text":"tin glaze","id":"AAT233436"}],"techniques":[],"materialsAndTechniques":"Tin-glaze earthenware, painted","categories":[{"text":"Tiles","id":"THES48884"},{"text":"Ceramics","id":"THES48982"},{"text":"Earthenware","id":"THES48964"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"CER","id":"THES48594"},"images":["2006BJ7030","2006AN2938","2006AN2935","2006AL6876"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"137 (VA)","id":"THES49876"},"free":"","case":"34","shelf":"8","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Tile","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Catalonia","id":"x28784"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"late 18th century-early 19th century","earliest":"1750-01-01","latest":"1850-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Given by Mr F.
