It has been variously identified as representing Erasmus, Bishop Fisher and Jean Viret. Habich recorded a fake stone medal based on the bronze of Jean Viret in the Dreyfus Collection in 1913. This is probably that fake, and is a nineteenth century pastiche of a sixteenth century German medal.","physicalDescription":"The face looks slightly to the right, and wears a fur hat with side flaps, and a fur-collared cloak, underneath which he wears a blouse and jacket.
