The new attribution was suggested by Pouncey. This personification of Discord is not described in Rips’a Iconologia, but the iconographers fo the Warburg Institute explain it ingeniously by ctrasting it with a figure of Conordia who holds a bundle of rods while two doves bill at her feet. Discordia in our drawing is shown breaking rods one by one in the presence of teo quarrling cocks.
