The obverse of the medal represents the bust of Jakob Zobel facing left, bearded and bare-headed and the reverse shows the Baptism of Christ in a landscape. Although Habich linked this medal with a series of Brandenburg and Saxon medals associated with the early work of Hans Schenk, this attribution is not firm.\r\n\r\nHans Schenck (active 1524 – d. before 1572) was a North German sculptor and medallist who worked at the Court of Duke Albrecht of Prussia in Königsberg.
