In this medal, dates 1539, Ferdinand I, Holy Roman Emperor is depicted wearing a broad-brimmed hat, and the Order of the Golden Fleece, holding a scroll in his left hand. The reverse shows an eagle bearing the coat of arms of the Empire on its breast, with the Order of the Golden Fleece below. \r\nMedals enjoyed an important place in collectors' cabinets. Based on classical coins, which were also much sought by collectors, they were also small in scale and intended to be examined at close quarters by their owners.","physicalDescription":"Obverse: bust till waist of Ferdinand.
