The obverse of the medal represents Sigmund Gammersfelder (1547-1603) of Nuremberg and the reverse shows Gammersfelder's wife Maria Gammersfelder (1550-1619).\r\n\r\nThe initials CI appear on two medals catalogued by Habich. He cited Erman and Gessert who identified this monogrammist with the Nuremberg artist Christoph Jamnitzer, the grandson of Wenzel Jamnitzer. Gessert believed the style of the monogrammist recalled the work of Valentin Maler.","physicalDescription":"","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Monogrammist CI","id":"A12051"},"association":{"text":"maker","id":"AAT251917"},"note":"possibly Christoph Jamnitzer"}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"lead","id":"AAT11022"}],"techniques":[],"materialsAndTechniques":"Lead","categories":[{"text":"Coins & Medals","id":"THES48974"},{"text":"Portraits","id":"THES48906"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"SCP","id":"THES48600"},"images":["2006AF4845","2006AF6005","2006AF5956","2006AF4701"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"013","id":"THES395572"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Medal","id":"AAT46025"}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""},{"apprise":"","note":""},{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"1604","earliest":"1604-01-01","latest":"1604-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Diameter","value":"4.1","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Weight","value":"29.7","unit":"g","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"Provenance: Tross. 140 medals and reliefs were purchased from M.
