Morley of Cheapside, London in about 1860. The fabric was designed to be made into dresses or waistcoats. Flowers remained the chief motif for textiles throughout the 1850s and 1860s and this example shows the type of stylised and linear designs based on flower forms and foliage which were available. Palms, ferns, ivy and other leaves were a popular choice.","physicalDescription":"Dress fabric of Jacquard-woven silk and cotton.
