Morley of Cheapside, London in about 1860. The fabric was designed to be made into dresses or waistcoats. Paisley prints were very popular at this time on scarves, shawls, woven vestings and ladies' printed cotton dress fabrics. The pine cone motif was taken from Kashmir shawls made in India, then adapted by British shawl manufactures in Paisley, Edinburgh and Norwich.","physicalDescription":"Dress fabric of Jacquard-woven silk, wool and cotton.
