Ltd. in the 1930s. Lines Bros. were one of the first companies to design and make educational and recreational toys for the pre-school aged child. By the 1920s toy designers were beginning to realise that children benefited from toys specially designed to encourage intellectual and physical growth. This toy helps to familiarise children with shapes.","physicalDescription":"This is a pull along toy composed of three long slats of wood held in place by three crossbars, all painted brown. This forms the base of the toy which is supported by four red wheels. A cord is attached to the front. Twelve dowels are attached at regular intervals to the base and this together with a number of shapes serves as a shape sorting toy as well as a pull along. There should be 36 shaped pieces in all but only 32 have survived as follows:-11 red balls, 12 yellow cubes and 9 black cylinders. The Tower Wagon was one of a range of educational toys made by Lines Bros for pre-school children.","artistMakerPerson":[],"artistMakerOrganisations":[{"name":{"text":"Lines Bros.
