This \r\ndesign is for the ceiling of a small, square\r\nLibrary. The four painted figures are\r\nallegories relating to various branches of \r\nknowledge. The design shows Adam's \r\nsophisticated use of classifcal motifs and\r\nelegant use of colour.\r\nNone of Adam's schemes for alterations to\r\nMamhead were carried out.
