Many critics and collectors considered that they prefigured the style of the great modernists of the 1920s.\r\n\r\nJones isolated his fruits and vegetables against neutral backgrounds. He used long exposures to ensure depth of field and a full tonal range, including detail in highlights and shadows.\r\n\r\nSome people think that some of his compositions have an erotic element.
