The fountain is composed of a large cylindrical basin set upon a low base. A cylindrical shaft is situated in the centre of the lower basin and is decorated in lions' heads, textured relief, and a smaller circular basin at the top. Water flows both from the mouths of the lion sculptures as well as upward from a single jet in the upper basin and falls over the edges of the basins rim.
