It is made by Carl August Lücke the Elder (active ca. 1688-1730). Little is known about this artist's life, though he probably came from Dresden, and was one of a family of sculptors. He is likely to have been the father or uncle of Carl August Lücke the Younger, and Johann Christoph Ludwig Lücke. He was probably the brother of the sculptor Ernst Friedrich Lücke (active ca. 1700). She wears a low round-necked dress with a tight corsage ornamented with a line of ows down the front, elbow length sleeves ending in a ruffled cuff; over her left shoulder the folds of a cloak or scarf.
