Although designed as a book illustration, this painting shows a minute precision and yet poster-like clarity that would suit a format as small as a postage stamp. In a similar vein, Meeuwissen was commissioned to design a set of playing cards, published also as an award winning book <i>Key to the Kingdom</i>, in 1993. Based on the Transformation decks that were popular in the 19th century, each card contains a different miniature image illustrating a nursery rhyme.
