While the merchandise would have had many uses in the home, most customers would have purchased items as souvenirs of their visit to a National Trust property. All the designs incorporate the same acorn motif, chosen for its associations with the nation, the past and the countryside. This brand identity becomes more important than the detailed design of individual items, as is clear from the way all 15 designs are shown together on a single sheet. \r\n\r\nThe drawing was made in 1970 by Pat Albeck, a textile designer. Felt-tip pen was new in Britain at the time and this example shows how effective a medium it could be.","physicalDescription":"Drawing in felt tip pen and preliminary pencil on paper showing a range of goods featuring an acorn motif.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Pat Albeck","id":"A3075"},"association":{"text":"artist","id":"AAT25103"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[{"name":{"text":"National Trust","id":"A34289"},"association":{"text":"designed for","id":"x41471"},"note":""}],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"Pencil","id":"x30347"},{"text":"Felt tip pen","id":"x32044"},{"text":"Poster colour","id":"AAT15039"}],"techniques":[{"text":"Drawing","id":"x32498"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Pencil and felt tip pen on paper","categories":[{"text":"Textiles","id":"THES48885"},{"text":"Designs","id":"THES48968"},{"text":"Drawings","id":"THES48966"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"PDP","id":"THES48595"},"images":["2006AM9861"],"imageResolution":"low","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"LVLF (VA)","id":"THES49656"},"free":"","case":"EDUC","shelf":"10D","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"designs","id":"AAT102051"}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Britain","id":"x32019"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"1970","earliest":"1970-01-01","latest":"1970-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Given by the artist","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"36.6","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"26.7","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"from catalogue","marksAndInscriptions":[{"content":"","inscriber":{"name":{"text":"Albeck","id":"A3075"},"association":{"text":"","id":""}},"date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"description":"","interpretation":"","language":"","medium":"Felt tip pen","method":"Handwriting","position":"Inscribed throughout with labels","script":"","translation":"","transliteration":"","type":"","note":"Inscribed throughout with labels; Handwriting; Felt tip pen; Albeck"}],"objectHistory":"","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Pat Albeck. \"Acorn\".
