He was Duke of Soria, Marquis of Aarschot and Lord of Chièvres. He was also tutor to the young Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, and was later his counsellor. He married Marie-Madeleine de Hamal.\r\n\r\nGuillaume and his wife are shown here kneeling in prayer. They face to the right, with the Croy arms below Guillaume and those of Croy-Hamal below Marie-Madeleine.\r\n\r\nThe glass was sold from the church at Aarschot, north-east of Louvain, in 1833. The panels found their way to the chapel of Rugby School in Warwickshire.","physicalDescription":"Panel.
