The top and bottom of the drum are flat. In the centre a hole passes through for attachment. Running round the side of the drum, the frieze is framed by a classical torus profile and by a cornice resting on volute-type consoles with grooves. On the frieze we see four groups of monks in meditation on either side of two Buddhas and two bodhi trees.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Unknown","id":"A1848"},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"schist","id":"AAT11626"}],"techniques":[{"text":"hand carved","id":"x30667"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Grey schist","categories":[{"text":"Buddhism","id":"THES48984"},{"text":"Sculpture","id":"THES48896"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"SSEA","id":"THES48598"},"images":["2019ME6804","2019ME6808"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"027","id":"THES373745"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Relief","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Swat Valley","id":"x35776"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"4th century","earliest":"0300-01-01","latest":"0400-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Given by Imre Schwaiger, Esq., through the Art Fund","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"0.063","unit":"m","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Length","value":"0.245","unit":"m","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"Given by Imre Schwaiger, Esq., through the Art Fund.
