There are four worshippers, graded by two and two. Large portion of the two on the left have been destroyed. In the foreground on the right stands an aged ascetic with bent knees facing left, wearing only a dhoti. His thin and bony right leg is set forward. The upper part of his body is extremely thin with his belly drawn in. In his left hand he holds a water gourd. He is bearded with long tangled hair staring towards the middle of the scene. Behind him stands another youthful ascetic with his hands joined in worship. His hair is gathered in bun and piled on the top of his head. On the left are two figures almost destroyed except for the cloaks they are wearing.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Unknown","id":"A1848"},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"schist","id":"AAT11626"}],"techniques":[{"text":"hand carved","id":"x30667"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Grey schist","categories":[{"text":"Sculpture","id":"THES48896"},{"text":"Buddhism","id":"THES48984"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"SSEA","id":"THES48598"},"images":["2021MV3410"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"001","id":"THES373539"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Fragment","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Swat Valley","id":"x35776"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"3rd century","earliest":"0200-01-01","latest":"0300-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Given by Imre Schwaiger, Esq., through the Art Fund","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"0.32","unit":"m","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Length","value":"0.11","unit":"m","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Weight","value":"2.5","unit":"kg","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"Given by Imre Schwaiger, Esq., through the Art Fund.
