It dates from the Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nations in 1851. The Crystal Palace was situated in Hyde Park in central London. After the Great Exhibition, it was rebuilt in Sydenham in south London. \r\n\r\nThis lithograph shows the fountain, which was a popular meeting point during the exhibition. The height of the transept allowed trees to grow inside the building, as you can see here.
