Some of the flowers are heightened with white, while two have yellow wash grounds picked out with red hatching in modelling the petals.  The leaves are painted in shades of sage and pale green which is also heightened with a certain amount of white.  \r\n      The painting is simply framed with strips of green paper on an ivory-coloured border with margins of buff-coloured paper collaged at the edges. A strip of beige woven textile has been added along the left hand side to act as a gutter for the album binding. It contains 56 leaves on which are Mughal miniature paintings, drawing and flower studies on both sides. The binding is covered with an Indian brocade.  This silk may have been cut from lengths brought home by the 2nd Lord Clive, who served as Governor of Madras, 1799 to 1803.
