This is one of the proposed buildings suggested by Colonel (later Lieutenant-General Sir) Andrew Clarke (1824-1902), who in 1864 was appointed Director of Engineering Works at the Admiralty. His radical proposals for the redevelopment of the Government Offices included the large-scale demolition of a large part of the Whitehall site. This model which represents about 224 rooms is cut away and shows the layout of the various floors.","physicalDescription":"Model, a t-shaped building with eight levels.
