Webb Bequest 1919\n\r\nFormerly anonoymous. Mrs Salmina-Haskell has observed that it is connected with a painting of the Flight into Egypt in S. Teresa, Turin (Mario d’Orsi, Corrado Giaquinto, Rome, 1958, pl. 34 and discussed on pp. 44-5). A bozzetto in oils is in the Busiri-Vici collection, Rome, op. cit., pl. 36. Mario d’Orsi dates the work during Giaquinto’s second stay in Turin (c. 1735-39). The inscription on the drawing confirms that the work was done in Turin. Victor Amadeus, Duke of Savoy, became first king of Sardinia in 1720.\r\n"},{"reference":{"text":"","id":""},"details":"","free":"Victoria and Albert Museum, Department of Engraving, Illustration and Design & Department of Paintings, Accessions 1919, London: Printed Under the Authority of His Majesty's Stationery Office, 1921"}],"production":"","productionType":{"text":"","id":""},"contentDescription":"","contentPlaces":[],"associatedPlaces":[],"contentPerson":[],"associatedPerson":[],"contentOrganisations":[],"associatedOrganisations":[],"contentPeople":[],"associatedPeople":[],"contentEvents":[],"associatedEvents":[],"contentOthers":[],"contentConcepts":[],"contentLiteraryRefs":[],"galleryLabels":[],"partNumbers":["E.3981-1919"],"accessionNumberNum":"3981","accessionNumberPrefix":"E","accessionYear":1919,"otherNumbers":[],"copyNumber":"","aspects":["WHOLE"],"assets":[],"recordModificationDate":"2025-04-29","recordCreationDate":"2009-06-30","availableToBook":false}}
