It is described as 'Knitting by a blind person: Prayer for the Houses of Parliament'. Most of the hand-worked pieces in the exhibition were produced by the inmates of charity institutions, particularly those dedicated to the care of poor children in Ireland.\r\n\r\nThe panel is knitted with two-ply cotton in stocking stitch. The 'Prayer for the High Court of Parliament', taken from the Book of Common Prayer, is knitted in 27 lines of purl stitch. The outer lace border has a pattern of overlapping leaves and was knitted separately.","physicalDescription":"Panel knitted in 2 ply cotton in stocking stitch.
