On the front is a sketch in pen, brown ink and wash, of the elevation of the East range of the South or garden front of Castle Howard, showing nine bays of the central structure, and nine bays of the wings, with prominent chimneys. The domed pavilion has coupled Corinthian pilasters, and is almost hidden behind flaming urns.  The larger, main dome lacks a lantern.  The windows each have block extensions beneath them. On the back is a plan in pen and brown ink.
