In 1952, he hitchhiked to New Mexico, producing a widely read story for LIFE magazine titled ‘Land of Enchantment’. The photograph draws attention to the burgeoning tourist industry in Santa Fe, a result of the boom in mobility spurred by the rapid expansion of the car industry.\r\n\nGelatin silver print\r\nMuseum no.
