There are five related drawings which are studies of separate parts (former collection of Philip Pouncey; British Museum; Nottingham Art Museum, Royal Museum of Fine Arts, Copenhagen; Albertina, Vienna). According to Vasari, Giulio Romano executed several designs for tapestries, subsequently engraved by G. B. Ghisi. Unfortunately Ghisi’s engravings have not survived. The handling of this drawing indicates a participation of the workshop while additional white highlights in the lower half of the design suggest that the drawing has been retouched by Peter Paul Rubens.","physicalDescription":"","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Romano, Giulio","id":"A5603"},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[],"techniques":[],"materialsAndTechniques":"Pen and ink and wash heightened with white","categories":[],"styles":[{"text":"Roman school","id":"x44667"}],"collectionCode":{"text":"PDP","id":"THES48595"},"images":["2017KE5156","2009CR9136","2017JY2220"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"LVLH","id":"THES49654"},"free":"","case":"PD","shelf":"324","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"drawing","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"No","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"1530s","earliest":"1530-01-01","latest":"1539-12-31"},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[{"object":{"text":"T.405-1910","id":"O353912"},"association":""}],"creditLine":"Salting Bequest","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Width","value":"564","unit":"mm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Height","value":"438","unit":"mm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"P.H.
