The shape ultimately derives from a metalware prototype evidenced by the gadrooned or fluted rim, and the decoration may have been engraved on the surface of the dish. Equally, it may have been more directly based on a Dutch Delft model.","physicalDescription":"Plate of circular, almost flat shape with narrow, spreading rim, moulded with small, oblique gadroons.
