The group's three founders met at the Atelier Populaire, an anarchistic student workshop, in 1968, the year of major student unrest in France and - to a lesser degree - elsewhere in Europe. Grapus was opposed to 'the sweet poison of advertising', and until 1977 chose to work for Left-wing clients, such as the Confédération General du Travail. This simple poster combines a Vietcong flag with the smiling face of a Vietnamese girl.
