Japanese patterns, such as Kakiemon ad Imari, were particularly popular among European customers. Other wares were enamelled with European designs that could not be obtained from China. Many were ‘over-decorated’ because they were too plain for European taste. The main centres for this work were England and the Netherlands.","physicalDescription":"Porcelain dish, painted in polychrome enamels in the <i>famille rose</i> palette with sprays of flowering prunus and peony with two pheasants, one perched, the other in flight, and a butterfly.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"unknown","id":"A1848"},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"porcelain","id":"AAT10662"}],"techniques":[{"text":"enamelled","id":"x30139"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Porcelain painted in polychrome enamels","categories":[{"text":"Porcelain","id":"THES48907"},{"text":"Household objects","id":"THES48939"}],"styles":[{"text":"Qing","id":"AAT18478"},{"text":"Chinese export","id":"AAT120350"}],"collectionCode":{"text":"EAS","id":"THES48596"},"images":["2008BT0443"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"145 (VA)","id":"THES49865"},"free":"","case":"21","shelf":"3","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Dish","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"China","id":"x29398"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""},{"place":{"text":"Delft","id":"x29383"},"association":{"text":"decorated","id":"AAT56257"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"ca. 1720-1730","earliest":"1715-01-01","latest":"1730-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""},{"date":{"text":"ca. 1730-1740","earliest":"1725-01-01","latest":"1740-12-31"},"association":{"text":"decorated","id":"AAT56257"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Bequeated by W.G.
