This bowl may have been an offering bowl for a Buddhist temple.","physicalDescription":"Bowl of porcelain, moulded in the form of a lotus flower with two ranks of sixteen scalloped petals, the lower rank with projecting points on the outside, the rim foliate, with a small, low foot. In the centre onside is a medallion with a Sanskrit character in 'siddham' type script, and around the outside the upper rank of petals contains eight further characters alternating with floral sprays, forming an inscription.
