This squatting form of Mahakala holding a chopper, skull cup and magic club is also called ‘Lord of the Tent’. It is particularly revered by the Sakya Order of Tibetan Buddhism. Mahakala is surrounded by his retinue, other wrathful protectors and religious teachers.
