Peter Branfield, a designer for Her Majesty's Stationery Office (HMSO), was commissioned to produce numerous posters for the V&A Museum. Although the Museum operated under various constraints and conventions with regard to posters, Branfield was often allowed to make the final choice of image. For this poster he chose and re-drew from a photograph one of Mcknight Kauffer's poster designs, <i>Soaring to Success! Daily Herald- the Early Bird</i> which re-launched the Labour Party's newspaper in 1919.","physicalDescription":"'E.
