His <i>Portraits of Many Persons of Note</i> fills three volumes with nearly 200 portraits and comprises a pictorial ‘Who’s Who’ of late Victorian and Edwardian celebrities. This portrait is of poet Ellen O’Leary (1830–1907) who, together with her brother, John O’Leary (see Museum no. PH.7632-1938), was the toast of literary Dublin. The poet W.B. Yeats wrote: ‘Romantic Ireland’s dead and gone/ It’s with O’Leary in the grave.’","physicalDescription":"Half-length portrait of O'leary seated and reading a newspaper.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Hollyer, Frederick","id":"A4345"},"association":{"text":"photographer","id":"AAT25687"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"photographic paper","id":"AAT14190"}],"techniques":[{"text":"platinum process","id":"AAT53492"},{"text":"photography","id":"AAT54225"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Platinum print","categories":[{"text":"Photographs","id":"THES48910"},{"text":"Portraits","id":"THES48906"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"PDP","id":"THES48595"},"images":["2008BV3506"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"LVLF","id":"THES49656"},"free":"","case":"X","shelf":"589","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"photograph","id":"AAT46300"}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"United Kingdom","id":"x29336"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"1900","earliest":"1900-01-01","latest":"1900-12-31"},"association":{"text":"photographed","id":"x30151"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Given by Eleanor M.
