It was printed in several shades of reds and yellow on Japanese paper (reflecting the influence of Japanese woodblock printing on the development of this process). Usually in colour printing a different block was required for each colour. Andrews was known for making her prints using a reduction method, in which a single block of lino was gradually cut away to print each colour in sequence. However, the complex construction of the overlapping shapes of this image makes it difficult to discern the method used for this print. It is also difficult to tell how many colours were used because of the way they overlap to produce new shades. A slight mis-register (where the colours don’t overlap exactly as intended) can be seen between the yellow and pink.","physicalDescription":"Depiction of Golgotha in reds and oranges.
