The scene was misunderstood by the Chinese decorator, who repeats the background in the foreground, and represents birds flying in the sky in a unique manner. The Delft-style sponge work decoration was reproduced with some accuracy. \r\n\r\nOn the back of the dish is the Dresden inventory mark 'N=499', indicating that the piece was once in the collection of Augustus the Strong  (1670-1733), Elector of Saxony, King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania.","physicalDescription":"Shallow, with flat rim.
