Many 18th century artists did this. Grimm sometimes accompanied the historians on their tours around the country to make drawings on the spot. He probably made this watercolour when he visited Wales with the writer Henry Penruddocke Wyndham (1736-1819).","physicalDescription":"Pen and ink and wash on paper depicting an extremely steep cascade or waterfall cutting through a rocky cliff face on the road from Machynlleth to Dolgelly in Wales.  There are a few people and sheep on the hill opposite the chasm.
