He usually drew from \r\nseveral sources, stylistically suited to the parent volume, \r\nso his additions were not always detected. The initial ‘D’ \r\ncopies an Italian cutting, while the leaf takes its border \r\nfrom the Breviary of Isabella of Castile and its miniature \r\nfrom a manuscript as yet unidentified.<br>\r\n<br>\r\nFacsimile of a 15th-century Italian cutting (London, British Library, \r\nAdd.
