The base square with rounded corners sits on a recessed rim which follows the contour of the base.  The walls taper inwards, the upper rim strengthened by a wire strip soldered to the inside edge.  The spout, a segment of a cone, is attached to the front;  the upper edge a continuation of the rim of the vessel.  The D shaped handle of cast silver is attached to the back wall opposite the spout.
