The painted opaque enamel was a recent innovation, said to have been developed by a Frenchman, Jean Toutin of Châteaudun. This striking colour combination was much used in enamels around this date.","physicalDescription":"Necklace based on the bow motif. Small bows in alternating turquoise/black and white/turquoise enamel are linked together to form the chain; at the front is a large diamond-set bow with flowers and sapphire and pearl drop.
