It consists of a series of sampler panels backed with blue glazed cotton and linked by insertions of crochet, netting, knotting and torchon lace.\n\nThe cotton panels contain samples of plain sewing of hems, patches, tucks, gathers and seams. Decorated with simple embroidery stitches in silk and with eyelet and buttonholes and loops. The silk and satin panels contain more elaborate silk embroidery and samples of quilting and ruching. The Penelope canvas panels contain samples of Berlin Woolwork. The fine and single canvas panels contain alphabet and numerical samplers, and fine silk embroidery stitches. The netted and net panels contain lacis work. The knitted panels contain examples of various knitting patterns.
