While working as a studio attendant at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the M. S. (Maharaja Sayajirao) University, Baroda, he was inspired by the creativity that surrounded him to make his own prints. His images have a simple and direct quality. They convey the vibrant nature of life in Baroda with a naivety and freshness that make them distinct. This quality was immediately recognised and respected by many distinguished artists, such as K. G. Subramanyan. It earned Parmar many awards during his short life.\r\n\r\nIn this linocut, executed in a child-like, naive style, we observe at the centre of the image, the image of a fruit seller carrying a basket of fruit on his head. Surrounding him on all sides are smaller depictions of people working in the fields, plants and bushes and a house.","physicalDescription":"Print, linocut on paper, executed in a naive style, this image has at the centre, a fruit seller carrying a basket of fruit on his head.
