It is a ceremony which marks the conclusion of the Sabbath and Holy days. In the ceremony of Havdalah aromatic spices are inhaled to revive the soul, after the departure of the special Shabbat soul. Typical spices used at this time were wild myrtle, balsam, jasmin, rosemary, nutmeg or mixed spices.","physicalDescription":"Spice box of silver filigree in the form of a tower with a spire, on a stem with a small knop flaring out to a square base standing on four ring shaped feet. The tower is surmounted by a silver flagstaff and a pivoted flag, with similar but smaller flagstaffs at each corner. There is a small hinged door in one side of the tower for the introduction of spices.
