After several\r\nRoyal commissions he became <i>Peintre\r\nordinaire du Roy</i>. Although they are now\r\ninvariably painted white, the most elaborate \r\nand expensive plaster ceilings were originally\r\nbrightly coloured. Cotelle's designs were \r\ninternationally influential with designers,\r\nincluding Inigo Jones and Jean Le Pautre.\r\nLarge numbers of his designs owned \r\nby Jones and by Jones's pupil, John Webb.\r\n\r\nE.1811-1912","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null}}],"partNumbers":["E.1811-1912"],"accessionNumberNum":"1811","accessionNumberPrefix":"E","accessionYear":1912,"otherNumbers":[],"copyNumber":"","aspects":["WHOLE"],"assets":[],"recordModificationDate":"2025-07-31","recordCreationDate":"2009-06-30","availableToBook":false}}
