However, it is difficult to know whether these scenes show actual historical events or simply represent themes popular in Rajasthani and Gujarati painting of the time.  The distinctive high turbans, curved Arab daggers (<i>jambiyas</i>) and apparent tie-dye textiles are all typical of Jamnagar, a princely state in Gujarat. This suggests that the box was made there.  Further support for this suggestion is the similarity between the painting on the box and wall paintings at Lakhota Palace, Jamnagar.","physicalDescription":"Painted box, sandalwood, painted with tempera and gold, with brass mounts.  The box has an attached (hinged) lid, a metal lock and handles, and stands on four oval feet.
