The design of ladies on terraces and flowers, arranged in petal-shaped panels, was a popular motif on the export blue and white porcelain of the Kangxi period (1662-1722).","physicalDescription":"Porcelain vase of baluster form with lid, painted in underglaze blue; the body is moulded with petal-shaped panels, arranged in three bands of eight and alternately containing a lady on a terrace and flowers in a pot. The neck has sprays of flowers, and a band of wicker pattern runs on the shoulders and on the lid's rim. An artemisia leaf in a double circle is painted in underglaze blue on the base.
